Top Health Benefits
Weight loss
The benefits of shilajit for females emerged with a long tradition of use in Ayurvedic medicine for its health benefits. Shilajit may indirectly contribute to weight management by enhancing energy levels, promoting overall well-being, and supporting physical performance during exercise. While many studies are being conducted, there is little evidence to suggest a direct effect on your metabolism or appetite.
Hormone balancing
Studies have shown improvement in estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen is the main sex hormone for the reproductive development of women and progesterone is a hormone that supports menstruation and supporting pregnancy in the female body. Low levels of either can cause complications. Creating a balance in these hormones can alleviate common symptoms:
-
Mood swings
-
Fatigue
-
Irregular menstrual cycles.
-
Cramping
-
Irregular periods
-
Prolong bleeding
The potential benefits for reproductive health are also noteworthy as it improves fertility and increases the chances of successful conception.
Iron deficiency anemia
Anemia is a medical condition of not having enough red blood cells or hemoglobin to carry oxygen through the body.
Iron deficiency is more common in women due to blood loss during menstruation. Symptoms may include:
-
Tiredness
-
Weakness
-
Breathing problems
-
Pale skin
-
Dizziness
-
Chest pain
-
Abnormal heartbeat
-
Cold hands and feet
Shilajit’s high iron content and other minerals including zinc, magnesium, and copper raise iron levels while containing fulvic acid which enhances the absorption of iron and other minerals. Your body uses iron to make hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body.
Slowing signs of aging
Amongst high mineral content including fulvic acid, zinc, and copper such minerals replenish skin cells with hydration and overall vitality.
Shilajit boosts collagen, the protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining the skin’s firmness and elasticity and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.
Fulvic acid, a powerful antioxidant, can help shield the body and skin from oxidative stress by scavenging free radicals.
Energy
The fulvic acid in shilajit has been shown to increase the activity of digestive enzymes like lysozyme, proteases, and acid. This improves nutrient digestion and bioavailability of minerals and nutrients making them more available to the body, making the cells more preamble and receptive. Data has shown an increase in the absorption of copper in porcine oviductal epithelial cells and simultaneously reduces its toxicity. [1]
There are potential side effects for any supplement ingested. These side effects may be common or severe. Since there is little research, little is known about the safety of short-term or long-term use of shilajit. However, there are concerns.
- Rich in iron: Too much iron creates issues with some medical conditions such as hemochromatosis, a genetic disease that causes excess iron to build up in the body. The accumulation of iron in the body may cause a variety of symptoms, such as fatigue, weakness, and joint pain.
- Prohormone: Will alter hormones in the body Children under the age of eighteen should avoid hormone-altering substances
- Contaminates: Shilajit resin is a humic substance and could be contaminated by metals or fungus if it is raw or unprocessed, leading to illness. Capsule or powdered extracts go through a filtration process to avoid this contamination
Can you take Shilajit while pregnant?
Researchers considered Shilajit safe for consumption when taking an appropriate dose. However, there is no definitive proof that it is safe to take shilajit during pregnancy. Due to a lack of study, researchers do not suggest supplementation during pregnancy. Heavy metals and fulvic acid might be detrimental to a developing baby, hence, unless encouraged by a certified healthcare expert, pregnant women should not use herbal supplements.
While safety during pregnancy is unknown there may be some potential benefits for pregnant women. The advantages are listed in the preceding statements and may also include:
-
Anti-inflammatory
-
Decrease weariness
-
Immune boosting
Does shilajit increase Testosterone in females?
Testosterone is a sex hormone that improves mood, sexual desire, muscle size, bone density, and performance. There have been many herbs that boost testosterone in diverse ways.
Shilajit increases the production of the Luteinizing Hormone, a hormone that regulates function in men’s testes and women’s ovaries. This stimulates the production of testosterone. In a study of 145 volunteers in 90 days testosterone production had increased by 20.45% . Shilajit was proven successful in boosting Testosterone in both women and men. [2]
How to use
